Annual Report and
Sustainability 2022

Commitments

Sustainability Management

The concern with recycling and reusing materials, among other sustainable actions, has always been present in all our activities. Over the last few years, we have been evolving and formalizing our path towards the best sustainability practices:

2008

We intensified the incentives to adopt sustainable actions.

2010

We formalized the creation of the Sustainability Area.

2012

We adopted the best sustainable practices at construction sites through multidisciplinary groups.

2013 a 2021

We consolidated and constantly improved the best initiatives in sustainability, following benchmark practices in the segment.

2022

With the support of the ESG Committee, we defined goals that permeate the entire business and implemented a series of actions linked to the topic, aiming, among other factors, at the engagement of all employees.

A multidisciplinary forum, the Committee provided an important advance in good practices and transparency when it began to report to the Audit Committee, linked directly to the Board of Directors.

Since 2021, we have also maintained an internal area dedicated to new technologies with a sustainable bias. Its goal is to prospect materials with low environmental impact, greater efficiency, and new technologies that contribute to increased control of our impacts.

Approved by the Board of Directors in May 2022, our Sustainability Policy aims to establish the premises for managing ESG practices and ensure their adoption in operational processes. Its principles translate our commitments as a Company and portray our corporate sustainability vision. (Click here to find out the guidelines of our Sustainability Policy).

Aligned with our strategic focus, values, purpose and business vision, these premises seek to encourage and raise awareness among stakeholders to promote healthy economic development, environmentally correct and with a positive social impact.

Aimed at all Group companies, the Sustainability Policy aims to guide decision-making and strengthen the culture of sustainability with employees (permanent, temporary, outsourced and self-employed), partners, suppliers, service providers and any person, natural or legal entity, which may relate to Even. During the year, we had over 120 employees impacted in the onboarding (integration) of Quality and ESG, with a satisfaction score of 9.79, with a satisfaction score of 9.79, higher than the goal of the Quality area (>= 9), which demonstrates our concern with Culture Even.

Commitment

The Quality and Sustainability area aims to disseminate the culture, ensure the quality of the processes and materials used, support the construction team and optimize processes for the sustainable construction of fantastic products, exceeding our expectations of our customers. Its commitment is to incorporate sustainable principles effectively and continuously into our decisions, routines, management, and business units, maintaining operational efficiency. We want to increasingly monitor and minimize the impacts of our activities on all links in the chain so that we can deliver to the customer a product with a concept of sustainability, disseminating the importance of the topic among our consumers..

Our main goal is to deliver Fantastic Products well located, that meet the needs of our customers and that do not have future problems in the post-occupancy period. On our journey, we want to monitor, minimize the impacts generated in the neighborhood, reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources, neutralize emissions, train people, and generate engagement in the ESG agenda.

Quality Policy

We have a consistent Quality Policy, in tune with ESG principles and with our values, purpose and strategic vision. The guidelines of this policy, which guide the development of differentiated real estate products, such as the Fantastic Product project, allow us to make our purpose of transforming people's way of living, working, and living together a reality.

The Quality Policy represents a guideline that all processes must follow to develop products that not only meet the real demands of customers and anticipate trends and needs of today's modern life. Regardless of the development standard, the projects seek to have a comprehensive view of the customers' wishes. Five pillars stand out in our Policy:

Quality Certifications

EDGE Certificate

The Certificate of Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) is a certification system for eco-efficient buildings created by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), an entity linked to the World Bank, to encourage sustainability in many projects in 120 countries. In 2022, we achieved the EDGE Certificate for the Arbo Alto de Pinheiros development in the west region of São Paulo.

The certification presents actual data to the customer on the percentage of efficiency and savings with water, energy, and materials:

  • Energy Savings
  • Water Savings
  • Savings on materials

PBQP-H:2021

The certificate, granted by the Habitat Brazilian Quality and Productivity Program (PBQP-H), proves our commitment to essential issues in our area of expertise: quality, with works marked by safety and durability, and the productivity of the construction segment, expanded with modernized processes and new materials. The certification applies to all enterprises and areas that are part of the Quality Management System.

ISO 9001:2015

Through audits, we obtained the ISO 9001:2015 international re-certification for all works in progress during the year and support areas. Re-certification, which includes materials, products, processes, and services, determines a quality management model for performance improvement, process optimization, more agility in the construction stages and product development, ensuring that the projects meet the customers’ needs and dreams.

Operational Strategies

Several projects are directly linked to our Quality Policy and ESG practices, by bringing more sustainable techniques and implementing social actions, which expand and improve relationships with different audiences. In this context, the Problema Zero platform stands out. This resource makes it possible to identify the best construction practices and improve operational standards and avoid/mitigate negative impacts.

In 2022, we implemented the Volunteer Committee (Somar Project), and the Neighbors Committee, which seeks to advance in discussions and actions for a good relationship with the communities surrounding our works.

Led by the HR, Somar Project is a structured volunteer program that identifies partnerships to promote positive experiences in the area, expand good practices and develop initiatives related to education, sustainability, solidarity campaigns and humanitarian actions. Sustainability Audits

Passing score: 91%

Note: Greater preparation of the works for the audit, update of the documents, cleaning, and organization of the work. No work was outside the minimum scoring rule.

Report to CDP

To bring transparency to shareholders, we responded for the first time, in 2022, to the CDP questionnaire, the main framework for reporting environmental data, and we obtained a “C” grade. This classification proves the Company's awareness of the issue and portrays our commitment and responsibility to the climate agenda.

Our main goal is to deliver Fantastic Products well located, that meet the needs of our customers and that do not have future problems in the post-occupancy period. On our journey, we want to monitor, and minimize the impacts generated in the neighborhood, reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources, neutralize emissions, train people, and generate engagement in the ESG agenda.
